The Dining Room - It's Totally Teal

First of all, I hope all of you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day! My boys made muffins for breakfast (with the help of Daddy, of course) and painted some masterpieces for me. There are really sweet, and I love being their mother. Henry is too funny - while Cade was painting a picture/card for me Henry went and got a Go Fish playing card out of the game cabinet and brought it to me. He said, "Card, Mama". So cute.

I have been blessed with a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. It was a blessing to be able to spend some time with mother yesterday.

Ok, now let's move on to the dining room. I painted it teal. I know that I have hinted about this and then left you hanging, sorry about that.

I have been back and forth with what I wanted for curtains, what fabric I wanted to cover my chairs in, and so on. I would come up with a plan and then buy something else that was BROWN. I'm not sure if I was having commitment issues with fabric, or what, but all of the brown had to go.

I started another project that required teal paint. The Depot was out of the shade of spray paint that I wanted and I was too impatient to wait on them to get more, so I decided to buy a gallon of paint to use for my project and use the rest to paint the room teal.

The room feels so much better now! The teal is the perfect shade for this room. It's Totally Teal by Gliddon. I would have never chosen this color on the spot, but after holding up numerous shades of teal that read almost navy in this room, this was clearly the winner.

I now feel like I can take my time with the rest of the room. I hung up some white curtains that I already had, but may opt for something else else that is a green and white print or possibly just trim them in green. I also still plan to re-cover the brown chairs in a green and white print, so we will see. I came across a great deal on upholstery fabric in a nice brown mink color for the parsons chairs. One day I will get on that project.

Oh, and just in case you are wondering about the chandelier...it's going to stay red. I like that it's a little unexpected. I think just about any room can had a nice pop of red.
