This is what my dining room looked like about about a month ago. Progress was being made.
curtains - check
chandelier - check
6 chairs - check (When I first created the dining room mood board I did not decide on chairs. I was waiting for the perfect deal on CL)
mirror hung and painted - check
silhouettes - almost a check, I have done 2 and need to do the other 2
table - needs to be paint
chairs - need to decide on fabrics
And then one day I decided to see what the chevon curtains looked like in the living room. Guess what, I liked them better in there. Oh, and I decided that I don't want to work around this table any longer. The parsons chairs just don't fit around the pedestal just right and the table could stand to be a tad narrower. The dining room is very small.
So, I have a new plan. Imagine that.
The wall color and chandelier are staying the same.
The white mirror and silhouettes will stay the same ( I just need to finish them and then show you).
We are going to build a farmhouse table. I really wanted to do this last year, but we had way too many other projects going on to even consider it.

The slip covered parsons chairs are going to get recovered in brown leather or vinyl. I went back and forth about this, (that is a lot of brown), but I am going to have to be practical. I have 2 little boys and we eat in our dining room almost every night. I don't want to get mad or frustrated when they spill something on my fabric. I know I could scotch guard them, but I think in the long run this will still be more practical. I also change my mind a lot, so nice and neutral is probably best. I am going to recover the current brown chairs with a nice graphic fabric. The boys don't sit in those. I'm pretty set on something green and white.
These are my 2 current faves.

Then there is the whole curtain thing. I have looked at a lot of fabric. I haven't found anything that I like for the amount of money I am looking to spend. But, I found some panels from World Market that I think are going to be just right. I like that they will add a nice big dose of pattern and color. Has anyone seen these in person? Are they pretty? We don't have a World Market, so I will have to order them.

So that is the new plan for the dining room, at least for now, anyway. I am the only one that totally changes the plan before finishing?
I'm really digging the curtains - love the variety of colors and the deeper colors. I'm also so excited to see your farmhouse table. I'll be living vicariously through you!
