The Dining Room - Painted Silhouettes

Way back in the day, a whole 18 months ago, I did a rough inspiration board for our dining room. This room is still very much a work in progress, but progress is being made so I am okay with that. Slowly, but surely, it will get there.

Several things have changed from the original rough board, the color of the walls, the curtains, the table that I want, and the chairs, but I  have not changed my mind about wanting silhouettes on the wall.

This project has been done for some time, but all four of them have only been hanging on the wall for a few days. Can you say procrastinator? That would be me.

I went back and forth about silhouettes on canvas or framed silhouettes, but chose the unframed canvas since the mirror is framed.

You can see how the lighting changes in this room from morning to afternoon.

Here is the list of what still needs to be done.

1. The Mr. needs to build my farmhouse table.
2. Prep and recover the parsons chairs I have a friend that is going to help me with this. I have the fabric, but I still need to purchase a few supplies and figure out when I can be without chairs for a little while. I have a fundraiser and a few play-dates scheduled at my house soon.
3. Trim for the white curtains.
4. Recover the brown chairs at the end of the table. I'm actually thinking about just doing the back for now. I'm still trying to be super practical about the fact that I have 2 little boys and the other for chairs will soon be recovered in fabric and not slip-covered.

If you are interested in the progression of this dining room, you can check it out here.

I have sold several of these silhouettes on canvas over the last year. If you are interested in purchasing one (or more),  please email me for details. nikkisnacs@yahoo.com

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new 2 Bills 2 Blow post.

  1. Those turned out so well. And they really balance out that wall nicely. I live the apple green color you used too. Great work.
