Weeks 1 and 2

- I am BFing exclusively.
- The first 2 days home I fed him every 2 hours (when I could get him to wake up) trying to get his weight back up before his 2 day appt. It worked, he was up 8 0z.
-The first week postpartum I was extremely sore....everywhere.
-My feet were extremely swollen after delivery and the swelling lasted for most of the week. The swelling was a lot worse than when I was pregnant.
-The nights were VERY long....we spent a lot of time in the glider rocker.

-I am feeling a lot more like myself, just with less sleep.
-It feels great to sleep in any position that I want to even if it is only for a few hours at a time.
-Baby is sleeping some 3 and 4 hour stretches through the night.
-I have officially lost 25 lbs. I still have 10 lbs. to go to be at what I thought was my pre-pregnancy weight, and then about 30 lbs to lose to get where I need to be. (I have a plan.)
-My jeans still don't fit.
-I can wear my wedding rings again.
-Dealing with Mastitis is not fun while BFing, but we are working through it. The antibiotics should clear it up quickly.
-I know he is only 2 weeks old, but we are officially working on getting him in a routine. Mommy and Daddy are looking forward to him sleeping through the night sometime around 8 weeks old. Babywise is my friend.(I know that there are a lot of different opinions about Babywise, and I don't necessarily agree with everything in the book. I think parents should do what they think is best for them and their baby.)
-We have established his first feeding of the day at 6am and are working from there.

  1. I am glad to know you are on the mend! He is an absolute doll! Can I say that even though he is a boy? I always tell my boys they are pretty, too!
