Cade Turns NINE!

Cade turned nine the day before Thanksgiving. Y'all, he is such a great kid. I just love him so much. It is so hard for me wrap my mind around him being nine already.

We were going to be headed out of town for Thanksgiving on the day of his birthday, and it never quite worked out to do anything with his friends the two weekends before, so we did the next best thing.

I invited them to come over for cake on Monday afternoon the week of Thanksgiving. I made a really simple minecraft cake, and then the kids all played outside.

The morning of his actual birthday we got up and let him open his presents from me and Asher. We spent the rest of the day packing and then loaded up to head to Jacksonville for Thanksgiving weekend.

The day after his birthday we had another little mini party for him. He had no idea it was coming, so he was pretty excited about more cake and presents.

I think he had a great birthday.

Memorial Day 2014

Last year we took the boys to Falling Waters for Memorial Day. Cade started planning our little day trip for this year about a month ago. He was so cute about everything. He remembered the order of the day and had been telling Henry all about it so that he would know what to expect. They really can be sweet to each other.

Our day was filled with boardwalk trails, swimming, a picnic lunch and then some playtime at the park.  It was a fun day for all.

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day! Thank you to all of you that sacrifice everyday for our freedom.

Christmas 2013

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas!

I didn't get my real camera out once throughout the day, but I did manage to get just a few pictures. I guess I was too busy enjoying the day with our family.

The boys woke us up at 5;30 a.m. This was the first year they have ever gotten up this early for Christmas. We started this Christmas morning like we do every year; we read the Christmas story from the book of Luke. Cade wanted the WHOLE Christmas story and we ended up reading some from Matthew as well.

After the Christmas story we stay piled up on our bed and take turns unloading the stockings.

We headed down stairs for gifts and this is where I just kind of quit taking pictures. This was the first year that Henry was really excited about Christmas, and it was so much fun.

Everyone came to our house this year for lunch. I really wish I had taken some pictures. I did steal this on from my sister's facebook page.

(me, my dad, and my sis)

I really enjoyed this Christmas. We kept things very simple and it really made things more enjoyable. The boys had a great time, and that really was the highlight of the day. We certainly missed my Mama, though.

Easter 2013

HE IS RISEN!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating the Resurrection Sunday with your family.

We started the weekend with lunch and an egg hunt with my husband's family on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday morning we headed to church with the fam and then our families came to our house for lunch. I got zero pics of lunch.

This was the first time I have used my tripod and self timer for a family pic.We were in a hurry, so this pic is not in focus, but it will do. Everyone's eyes are open. I need to practice.

After lunch and naps we colored Easter eggs. Cade hates the smell of vinegar, so I decided to go the Kool-Aid route this year, and it was great. We will probably color eggs like this from now on. It smells nice and the colors get dark really fast. Almost too fast.

We had fun making memories.

8 months

As of Sunday, Henry is 8 months old. (I'm a little behind)
I feel like his first year is FLYING! I am just trying to savor every little thing. He is my last baby.

The day he turned 8 months old he started his first little bit of real babbling. ba- ba- ba- ba- ba

He also sat up by himself. His daddy laid him on the floor after we came in from church, walked out of the room, and when he walked back by him he was sitting up.

He is just a sweet baby, and I just can't get enough of him.

Diaper changes are still wresting matches, but we are getting used to it.

We decided to go ahead and move the mattress down in his crib (he didn't know what to think). Since he is sitting up on his own, I know pulling up is just around the corner. He has no fear, so we are going to stay a step ahead of him.

He is teething and has been pretty miserable. Just waking up during the night, and not napping as well. It's been obvious it's him gums so we just keep giving him teething tablets or tylenol. He also gets held and rocked more than normal. I am just enjoying him wanting to be held because he is normally too busy for that.

He spent his first night away from home this past month, and  did great. I love that my boys get to spend lots of time with their grandparents, but we really miss them when they aren't home.  I enjoy the quiet for a little bit, but then it's too quiet.

He is still in a size 3 diaper and wearing a size 6-12 months. No Dr. visit until next month, so I don't know how much he weighs.
