Five on Friday

We had a great week!

Cade left for Camp on Sunday and it was just me the H-man during the day. He really missed his brother, so I tried to do a few special things to keep him busy.

1. Monday, we had a mostly chill day and then headed to the pool for a little bit.

2. Tuesday, the weather was pretty yucky so we worked on a few projects. Henry was quite the Project Manager! We cleaned out and organized the fridge and freezer, and then re-organized a few problem kitchen cabinets and drawers.

3. Wednesday was such a success that I decided to tackle another project with Henry's help. We completely rearranged our master closet. (This will be in a future blog post/youtube video.) Before we could start the project I needed to pick up a few things, so we headed out for a quick trip to ROss and Target. On the way to Ross we spotted a helicopter that was about to land, so we parked in the hospital parking lot so Henry could watch it up close. He thought it was pretty cool. He also got a snack at Target.

4. Thursday was the day Cade came home from camp. He is still super sleepy, but we are thrilled to have him back.







5. I managed to get a few videos up on my YouTube channel. I am working on more videos that are not beauty related, so be on the look out for those. In the mean time, check these from this week out.

Five on Friday

Happy First Friday of 2015! I trust you all had a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

1. Asher and I celebrated 17 years of marriage on New Year's Eve. I love that we always have a special date night each and every year. There is no other way I would rather ring in the new year. This year my in-laws kept the kids overnight, so we had a nice Japanese dinner out and then went to a late movie. It was a nice treat. 

2. I am looking forward to a new year of blogging. Last year during the month of Oct. I posted for (almost) 30 days in a row on one particular subject. I learned that with a little bit of planning and structure, I can post pretty often. I am not looking to post everyday, but I am going to start planning ahead a little bit more.

I plan to use my new Erin Condren Monthly calendar that I received as a Christmas gift as a dedicated blog planner. I am already enjoying have my blog editorial calendar being separate from my regular Life Planner. (See my side bar if you are a new Erin Condren customer. 3. My friend Alana took a blogging break over the last several months, but has just recently launched her new blog, 31 Grace Lane,  in Dec. I am really excited to see that she is back. She has such a sweet heart.

4. This is my project today. Christmas is still currently all over my house, but it must come down today.

2. I am so proud of Cade for getting Baptized this past Sunday. It was a special a day.

4. This is just because I know you needed to see another picture of Tucker. We have really been working with him, and he is becoming such a sweet little doggie. He is the perfect little playmate for Henry.

5. I have never, ever put up a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, but I am considering it this year.

Five on Friday - Fall Edition

It has been way too long since I have done a Five on Friday post! This has been a full week, so you get a bonus number 6 at the end.

1. My sister got married in August, but her wedding reception was this past Saturday. It was such a fun weekend. Friday night all of our family come over for a Chili Dinner and S more's by the fire. Saturday morning I got up early to go decorate the venue. It was beautiful! (I'll do a separate post on that another day.) The reception was so much fun! I am so happy for my Sis and new Bro and enjoyed spending the weekend with family.

2. I finally took the boys to the pumpkin patch.

3. We had a great time at Trunk or Treat this year. The boys decided a few months ago that they wanted to do a Lego Movie theme. Asher was President Business, I was Wild Style, Cade was Benny, and Henry was Emmet. Cade always requests that their costumes be comfortable to play in so that they can easily do all of the fun activities. This year I kept it simple and just did tops and half masks.

Our games were very simple, but seemed to be a hit. We had several kids that kept coming back over and over.

We had a Lego Toss made out of poster board and a few jars full of Legos for a Guessing Game.
 

4. I participated in the Nester's 31 Day Writing Challenge during the month of October. It was a crazy busy month to take something like this on, but I am happy that I did it. I learned a lot. I missed a few days, but will be filling in those posts very soon. You can view the posts HERE if you would like to check them out.

5. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen this, but I still wanted to show you here. The short version is that the Erin Condren Life Planner Covers will fit the Plum Paper Planner.

 I have really enjoyed my Plum Paper Planner this year, but I had a credit at Erin Condren that was enough to order a new Life Planner and extra cover for Free. It may end up not being a big deal.

The PP cover is a little bit wider, but if you take it off, the Erin Condren Cover fits perfectly on the Plum Paper Planner. It was a fun discovery that I wanted to pass along. I like knowing that if after using the EC planner I still prefer the lines in the PP one, I can order a PP planner and and EC cover and have the perfect planner.

I hope you have all had a wonderful week! It has been a great week here, but I am looking forward to a little down time as a family.

one. My little sister got married this week. It was really sweet, she looked really pretty, and I'm just really happy for her. She married a guy that I went to high school with, so I have known him forever. He's a great guy and we are happy to have him as part of our family. She is having a reception later this fall, so there is a good chance some DIY Wedding Reception Stuff may make an appearance on the blog at some point.

two. We haven't done anything this week that we didn't have to do. We start school on Monday, so I guess we have just been trying to savor the last few days of Summer. It's been too hot to do anything!

three. I was really hoping to have our new chalkboard done before we started school on Monday, but it just isn't going to happen. And it's really ok! I have to keep reminding myself that I can't do everything.

Every time I went to Lowes they were out of chalkboard paint. I finally just ordered it on Amazon. I don't know why I didn't just do that to begin with. I would have had plenty of time had I done that to begin with. It could have already been done by now. Oh, well.

four. Asher brought home a bucket of pears last night. Cade is the only one is our family that really likes them. (I have started to like them pretty good, but don't always like them.) I made pear bread, pear crisp, and am going to make a pear gingersnap cheesecake tomorrow for my Daddy's birthday. The 2 things I have already made are delicious! I was surprised by how much I liked them. We still have just enough left for Cade to eat as snacks for a few days.

two. Apparently Wednesday was National Root Beer Float Day. My boys had never had one, so I had to remedy that.

Kirkland's recently moved to a new location in our town. Ok, so it's probably been there for months, but I had not been there. I was close to it this week and decided to take a peek. Y'all! I ordered an Erin Condren Lesson Planner a few weeks ago to use for the new homeschool year. I have been in planning mode this week. The planner is beautiful, and just what I needed. I plan to do a full review in the coming weeks/months, but I want to break it in a little more before I do. I want you to get the full scoop.

We have had a super laid back week. I have taken zero pics of my kiddos. Mommy fail.

Plum Paper Designs Planner - Etsy - Here is the Review I Did

It has been a wonderful week. For the first time in 6 weeks we didn't have to be somewhere every single day.

two.
If you follow me on IG, or have been following me for a little while, you may remember that I challenged myself to walking 100 miles this Summer. I know that isn't many miles for a whole Summer, but I wanted to give myself something that would be easy to achieve. And then I hurt my foot. I have been out of commission and not able to walk for a month! I had pretty much decided that there was no way that I would be able to complete my goal, but then on Wednesday I realized that I had been walking around without any pain. PRAISE THE LORD! I decided that I would go take a real walk. I walked for 2 miles without any pain. And then again the next day. I can still get these miles in if I stick to it. It won't be the loose schedule like I had planned, but I think I can do it. You can still join me, here is the original post for details. Did you see the updates we made to our bathroom? I finally got around to sharing them this week.

Cade, Asher, and his Dad all went to a basball game tonight, so I had a date with this dude. He requested Waffle House and then a cupcake. We all had a fun night.

Y,all! We got a new washer and dryer! I am so excited. Ours were the ones we bought almost 17 years ago when we got married. It was time for an upgrade. God really provided these for us in such a cool way. He always sees ahead and provides. Oh, and they are they exactly what I wanted. I may just do laundry all weekend.
