Dining Room Progress - New Chairs

the initial plan minus the chairs

Most of the rooms in our house are very much a work in progress. The dining room would certainly fall into the same category. I still have so many things that I want to do in this room, but like every other room it's a little here and a little there and it will eventually all get done.

One of the main things that needed to happen in this room was some new chairs. Several of ours are broken. I have been searching craigslist for months (probably more like a year) looking for chairs. I had pretty much decided that I wanted two upholstered head chairs and 4 padded chairs that I could recover. Our current dining table is  black (one day I will get to painting it white), so I for sure wanted the 4 chairs to be a nice wood that didn't need to be painted. Other than that, I was pretty open to different styles I just hadn't found "the" chairs yet. The funny thing is my husband found these chairs. He asked me several weeks ago what kind of chairs I wanted. I told him that I wasn't really sure what to tell him, but I hadn't seen them yet. He was at a job and happened to spot these in the corner of the warehouse they were working at. When he saw them he said that he knew they were "the" ones. He told me about them and then took me to see them. They were perfect! He talked to the owner the next day and paid him what he wanted for them. They were quite the deal.

The best part is that I don't HAVE to do anything to them right away. I plan to recover them, but they are in good shape and not a crazy ugly print, so I can take my time. I initially wanted to cover them in a geometric print, but now I'm leaning towards a green faux leather. We eat in our dining room every night, so I'm pretty sure that the fabric route wouldn't be the best for us. I do have the option to still cover the back of the chair in a fun print. I have lots of options.

Now I am keeping my eyes open for upholstered head chairs. I'm thinking I might want something teal, but not totally sure. All suggestions are welcome.
