Cake Balls

We made cake balls for Easter.

This is my second attempt at this wonderful recipe. My first attempt ended in very messy, but still delicious balls of cake.

My favorite thing about this recipe is the versatility of it. You can mix and match any cake and icing flavor. I used yellow cake, chocolate icing, and chocolate bark.I have also seen them turned into cake pops for party favors.

You can find the recipe HERE.

MY TIPS:
- Let cake cool completely before mixing with icing.
- Make balls with a scoop and then roll them in your hands to form ball.
- Put the balls on a cookie sheet, cover, and refrigerate over night or put them in the freezer for a few hours. This makes them much easier to work with.
-But a toothpick in the center of the ball and dip in melted bark. You still need to spoon some of the bark over the top of them, but the toothpick will keep you from making a mess.

  7. I just had something like this from a cake maker here in Tulsa! I am going to have to try this. A friend of mine made something similar with crushed oreos and cream cheese for the center. They were delish!
