Last year when we were getting ready for baby #2 we had to move our "office" into the dining room. We now have an "office corner". This set up isn't ideal, but currently necessary.
I quickly learned that some changes needed to be made.
1. The 2 floating shelves weren't really functioning well, so we replaced them with 1 smaller shelf.
2. A basket and magazine file keep the visual clutter to a minimum. It is a desk, and things do get dumped there, but now they have a "place" to be dumped other than the top of the desk.
3. Chalkboards are nice to have, so I added one.
