Today we get to see how Kim from NewlyWoodwards would blow 2 bills.
I became acquainted with Kim during her blog series Dare to DIY a few years back, and have been a loyal reader since. She and her husband have some mad home reno skills so be sure to check out the homes they have renovated.

Hey, Nac-sters! I'm Kim from NewlyWoodwards and I'm thrilled that Nikki asked me to stop over. My husband and I blog about our life, our home renovations (we just completed our third) and other daily and random fun.
When Nikki asked me to share how I would use $200 of fun money for the house, I first asked if I could spend $2,000. When Nikki said no, I went back to the drawing board. (And as an aside, she is now totally feeling my husband's pain. I'm always stretching the budget just a little bit.)
So, I knew that I'd immediately use that $200 towards our living room. After the money spent on renovating, I'd like to warm it up with some decorative touches.
Namely - pillows. I need them badly. And while I could be reasonable and choose reasonable pillows, since this $200 just fell out of the sky, I'd buy two of these puppies.

It's kind of silly that I love this fabric. I'm not fancy and don't own anything designer. But I do love this fabric. And I think it would be fabulous on our sofa. And it's my $200. With the extra $10, I'd go to the local fabric shop and buy some clearance fabric in a navy blue and white pattern to make into pillows to pair with these lovelies.
And then because I spent so much money on them, I'd be too afraid to actually sit on the sofa with the dogs.
But, that's why it's all a dream. And it looks really pretty, right?
Thanks for having me, Nikki. It was fun to dream about having 2 bills 2 blow.

Thanks so much for having me, Nikki! Now I just need to find some pillows that fit in my real-life budget. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice pick. My dog would ruin that pillow in 2.2. Otherwise I'd totally spend $200 on them. :P
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric! It would be quite a splurge, but pillows can totally transform a room!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this fabric. A little splurge on a bold fabric is what makes a room!
