Homemade Pizza
Friday nights are pizza nights at our house!
I used to be scared of making my own pizza dough, but then I came across this recipe and gave it a shot. This dough is so good! And so easy! Sometimes I split it and make 2 thin pizzas like it calls for, but we really like a nice thick crust, so most of the time I just make one nice large pizza with it.
The possibilities are endless and far as topping for pizza, so just use what you have on hand or what your family likes. We tend to do different sections for each person with their favorite toppings. I also thought I would share my tips for taking your pizza crust up a notch.
How to take your pizza crust up a notch...or 4
- brush the outside edge of the crust with butter
- then sprinkle on some garlic salt
- then add a little oregano or your favorite italian seasoning blend
- then add a little bit of Parmesan cheese
I promise it is worth it. It gives the crust such a great flavor.
What are your favorite pizza toppings? Do you make your own pizza dough?

Mmmm... homemade pizza is so delicious!! But I'm terrified of yeast. I don't know why. It just creeps me out.
ReplyDeleteI do like fresh basil (or oregano), garlic and tomato on my pizza. And I always make the sauce a mix of red sauce and garlicky pesto. So good!
I go to Trader Joes and get my dough. Try this pizza combo...so yummy...
ReplyDeletepesto for the sauce
sun dried tomatos..the one in oil
fresh basil
goat cheese
topped with a bit of mozzarella.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
OMG, that looks so good! We use pita's for dough a lot.
ReplyDeleteMarisa, I used to be scared of yeast too. I finally just decided to try it and now I'm glad that I did. It wasn't a big deal at all. Oh, and that combination sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAmy-pesto sounds great on a pizza!
ReplyDeleteJesse-I like to use pita's sometimes too...so good and fast.
I've never made my own pizza dough - doughs in general kind of intimidate me. I love loading up on veggies, mushrooms in particular.
