30th Birthday Post #2 - The Trip

We got up EARLY on Thursday morning and got ready for our trip. We took the dog to Asher's parent's house and the boy to my parent's house, and then got on the road.

We were actually staying at a condo in Lakeland, FL which is only about 45-60 minutes from Orlando. Three of my mom's brothers live in Lakeland so we had dinner with my Aunts, Uncles, and a few cousins on Thursday night. Dinner was GREAT and they all made me feel so special. Strawberry shortcake for dessert and roses for me to take to the condo to enjoy the whole weekend. I have a great family.

The next morning we got up and headed to Orlando. The first stop was Downtown Disney. We wanted to check it out and see what all was there in case we needed something to do one night.

He had to go in the Harley store at Downtown Disney to get this picture for my dad. He is a Harley man. It was getting really hot so we were done and headed out.

Next stop was the Millenia Mall. First we had lunch at P.F. Changs and then the shopping began. There were so many stores and so little time. I finally made it to Z Gallerie. Loved it. Couldn't find anything that I just had to have, but I tried really hard.

Just outside the mall was IKEA. I had no idea it was so big! I did make a few purchase there.

I finally found some white flower pots. I have hunted and hunted for these with no luck in my town. (the wicker balls and flowers are not from IKEA)

Then we headed to West Elm. It is such a shame there isn't one anywhere near us.

It was getting late and I was exhausted, so we headed back to Lakeland. I didn't even want to go anywhere for dinner so we ordered some food and headed back to the condo for an evening in.

The next day we had a relaxing day with a little bit of shopping, but not at the same pace we kept the day before. My cousin called to tell us that he was able to get us tickets to game 6 of the Magic/Cavs series! SCORE! We were so excited so we rested up for the game.

I thought this was kind of cool with all of the thunder sticks glowing in the arena.

Go Magic!

The next morning we got up and headed home...back to reality. :(

  1. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Nothing like going places without the kids once in a while too. Love those white pots, speaking of which I have a hard time finding white ones by me as well.
