Dining Room Before and After {part 1}

I thought it was about time that I give you an update on what has been going on around here.
I have been busy getting rid of the flowery walls in this house. I started with the dining room because it is the smallest room and I needed some instant quick gratification.
Before we moved in. Checkout that lovely carpet.

We couldn't move anything upstairs until the carpet was installed 2 days after we moved in so we camped out in the dining room. It was easier to put the bed together than to find a place to put all of the parts.
New tile floor.

After tinted primer and paint on walls and trim.

The color is Smoked Oyster by Valspar and color matched to Olympic Fast Hide Paint. This was the first time I have used this paint, but I really liked it. The original plan was to remove all of the wallpaper in the house, but after a little investigating realized that some of the wallpaper was put over paneling. The grooves in the paneling had been filled with putty or caulk or something. Can you imagine what the wall would have looked like if I have taken all of the wallpaper down to find that mess? Horrible. We are renting so new Sheetrock wasn't an option.

I still have a lot to do in this room, but it's nice to have a black slate to work with.
