My Mom

I have gone back and forth about writing this post, but decided it was time to finally do it. This has been a tough year for our family. My mom was diagnosed with cancer in Feb. She went through chemo, lots of major surgery, she and my dad lived in the hospital for 3 months (3 hours away from home), and then she started chemo again. It's been a long fight, but 2 weeks ago my sweet Mama went home to be with Jesus.

It's been hard. I'm still trying to process everything, but I am thankful. I'm thankful that even though this didn't turn out the way we wanted it to, the Lord is my peace and comforter. I'm thankful that she was my Mom and that I will always have sweet memories of her. I'm thankful for my family, church, and friends that have been such a huge support to all of us. I'm thankful for friends that have shown me how to be a good friend.

It wasn't her time to go. It is never God's will for someone to die young or sick, but at some point she decided she was ready to go. I'm thankful that she is no longer in pain. I'm thankful that I will get to see her again.

  6. Wow Nikki, what a sweet tribute to your mom. That was a fast battle. My dad died of cancer in 1998 after a 3 year long battle. So, I know what it's like - it's hard! BY the way, thank you for your sweet comment on my dining room post today!
